What a busy week leading up to the opener. What was to be a simple and small project turned into an all day event. That’s what I get for waiting till the last minute. I made up a bunch theft deterrent boxes yesterday for trail cams I plan to put up on the new lease. I made a wood “mock” camera and used it as the fixture for the parts for welding so the trail cams would be a nice snug fit inside the frame. I used a wire feed welder to construct the boxes. The upper and lower spikes are sharpened and will be pressed or pounded into the tree bark. I welded a chain to one side of the side tabs. The other side has a hole for a padlock. Then I gave them a two tone camo paint job. The inside of the box is lined with a self-adhesive rubber pad that will cushion the camera a bit in the contact areas. I made up several of these yesterday. And will make more. Hopefully it will deter the opportunistic thief.

Picked up 3 more cameras tonight and welded up more boxes for them. I'll have 8 going so far.
