What's an Avatar?? An Avatar is that little picture on the left side of the screen that shows up every time you make a post. It is your identification picture. There are pre-made avatars but the list is short and they are not personalized.

avatars containing inappropriate images will be removed. This is a family friendly site. This is the picture that other members will associate with you. Would you want your wife, mother, ect to associate the picture in your avatar with you? Please be respectful.
The first step in having your own avatar to to select the picture you want to use. The next step is to resize it to make sure it is no larger than 100 x 100 pixels. Once you have the picture you want and it is no larger than 100 x 100, you need to upload that picture onto photobucket or some other free picture hosting site.
With the photo for your avatar stored, you will now need to modify you member profile. Near the top of the screen, you see a row of icons. Select the icon titled "Profile"
Once in the profile page, select "Modify Profile"
Go to Photobucket and highlight and copy the link to the avatar picture you stored there. Paste that link into the avatar URL line in your profile. It should start with http.
Once completed. Make sure to re-enter your password since you are making a change, The profile page just wants to make sure it is really you.
The last step is to save your change by clicking on the button shown at the bottom of the screen.
I can't promise your avatar will be as good looking as mine but at least it will be a unique identifier that folks will recognize each time you post.
